Over the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course, participants develop skills in identifying early signs of stress and learn practical and skillful means to reduce the impact of stress towards themselves and those around them. It also has a focus on supporting people to move towards healthier lifestyles, finding a greater balance in life and is suitable for those wanting to increase peace and pleasure in everyday life and improve relationships.
Home practice is supported through the provision of resources and follow –up when required. Included in the course is a Day of Mindfulness which is a longer session where participants can fully immerse themselves and put all of their skills into practice. This course is suitable for people experiencing chronic pain or living with chronic health conditions as we learn to care for ourselves in new, responsive and individual ways. The course has both a preventative and therapeutic effect.
