About Us

Mindfulness Programs Australasia (MPA) is proudly Tasmanian, Australian based business delivering evidence-based and evidence-informed Mindfulness courses, events and activities. Mindfulness skills and practices have been proven to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, and to improve wellbeing. Formal and informal practices of mindfulness enable us to meet challenges more skilfully by training attentional choice, increasing tolerance to difficulty, and strengthening decentering practices to enable pause, observation and curiosity when addressing lifes problems. A lovely side effect is often to feel more relaxation and calm in your life as well!

MPA aims to provide the gold standard in the delivery of mindfulness based programs and therapeutic services for the wellbeing of our community, including the acclaimed Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program, Mindfulness based Cognitive therapy, From Pain to Peace: Mindfulness for Chronic Pain, Mindfulness day retreats, and coming soon, Mindfulness in Nature therapeutic programs and Mindful Parenting courses.

MPA is a business of HomeCountry Pty Ltd. It was founded by Miranda Stephens of Psychology Matters and  Christine Hiltner of Zen Wellbeing Services, and they brought their experience providing therapeutic, educational and clinical services in the areas of mental health and wellbeing into its ethos. Through MPA, Mindfulness Based programs have been  delivered in local, rural and remote communities where access to empowering, person centered group programs may not be otherwise widely available.

Tracy Spencer of HomeCountry continues this tradition, bringing a heart for rural and remote Tasmania and Australia, expertise in trauma-informed therapy, and her 8 years of experience as a Mindfulness teacher for Mindfulness Programs Australasia. Our team of teachers across Tasmania, and our admin crew, will continue to deliver Mindfulness programs wherever adult Tasmanians are looking for ways to reduce stress, increase wellbeing, and live more mindfully with ourselves, eachother and the planet.
