We Have Some Big News!

Christine, Miranda and AnnaWe have some very exciting news to share with you! We have had a wonderful 8 years of bringing mindfulness courses to adults right across Tasmania. After much thought and reflection, we are now stepping into semi-retirement and handing over the reins of Mindfulness Programs Australasia to someone you may already know, the lovely Tracy Spencer!

Tracy has been a valued facilitator since almost the beginning of MPA. Tracy is looking forward to continuing the programs and working with
Primary Health Tasmania. We are thrilled to be leaving MPA in her capable, compassionate and visionary hands. We’d like to thank the Commonwealth of Australia and Primary Health Tasmania. They commissioned us in 2017 for mindfulness programs to be delivered to cities and small rural communities. This included both online and in person formats. Working with PHT has been a pleasure; they have enabled us to adapt our programs for Tasmanian communities. Notably, they made this all totally free for participants! We are the only state to have done this!

It has been a privilege to contribute to the wellbeing of so many people with the power of mindfulness. We are proud to have been a small North West Coast business with a big name and a big reach. It has been a real honour to deliver services in the communities in which we live. Additionally, we developed connections and saw the impact of the practice. And now even bigger things are ahead for MPA!

We’d like to thank our organisational partners and those who have referred and recommended us; there are too many to thank individually but we appreciate you all. With endless gratitude, we give thanks to our amazing facilitators over the years – Rosy, Tracy, Josef, Sally, Mary, Astrid, Varuni, Caroline, Pamela and Sarah. We also thank our behind-the-scenes legends – Anna, Cameron, Mike, Grace and Chloe. We certainly could not have done this without them. Or without the hilarious memes accompanying the workflow messages! This wonderful team has been led by the amazing, multi-skilled creative that is Anna. Sadly, we also say a grateful farewell to Anna. She moves on to pursue other dreams and leaves us in good shape. The legend Cameron will juggle his meticulous data work and increase his front desk powers with his usual effervescence. This will take MPA forward and that is exciting!

We’d like to honour the lineages of mindfulness teachers who have passed on their wisdom and ancient practices to us. A BIG shout out to Timothea Goddard of Openground whose generosity with teaching and supporting us with resources has truly embodied living mindfully. This has made it all possible.

Most importantly, thank-you to all the amazing Tasmanians who have attended our sessions. We are grateful to you for allowing us to introduce mindfulness to you, for being vulnerable and courageous in your learnings. Additionally, we thank you for the generous connections you have made with other meditators. We now have a large group of Tasmanians who live mindfully with intention. We are well on our way with our vision of making Tasmania a Mindful State!

We look forward to seeing you at a booster session coming up as we are not going anywhere! We will still be teaching for MPA (in-between semi-retirement and teaching yoga for Christine and clay sessions for Miranda!). THANKYOU again and here’s to an exciting future with Tracy at the helm!

Warmest regards,
Christine Hiltner and Miranda Stephens
